One of my fondest family memories while growing up was walking from house to house with my sisters and parents in my Halloween costume, looking at the outdoor decorations, absolutely amazed and excited for each mini-adventure to come. Every house had its own unique characteristics whether it be spider-webs, coffins, tombstones, vampires, bats, zombies, skeletons, etc. Being a kid is awesome 365 days of the year, but there is one special day where being a kid is extra spectacular. A day when you can stay up past your bedtime and sift through the candy you collected from the time you spent trick-or-treating in a costume of your favorite character. Ah, the good old days.
Halloween is just around the corner and if you haven’t had the time to embellish your house with outdoor Halloween decorations yet, do not think that it is too late to do so. There’s definitely enough time to spruce up your house for Halloween. Just think about the smiles you will witness on the faces of the many children that will walk to your front door, amazed and in awe about all that surrounds them. You can definitely make a lasting childhood memory for the kids in your neighborhood.

Keep in mind that when decorating your house for Halloween, visualize how it is going to look at night. Use the darkness to your advantage when creating your outdoor masterpiece whether its by incorporating lights to make things POP out or maintaining the level of darkness to use as an element of wonder and surprise. The possibilities are plentiful, just be sure to have fun and be safe. Halloween is almost here, and I can’t wait! Can you tell?
